What Are YOU Saying?

I read a disturbing statement:
“The Day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night. While people
are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come on them suddenly,
as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape.” (1 Thessalonians 5:3)
I am not a negative person, but I do understand that certain attitudes will result in negative outcomes. Bad news must not be taken lightly; it demands a quick response to avert death.
If the house is on fire, if the bridge is out, if the CT Scan reveals a tumor, an attitude that says, “peace and safety,” has deadly outcomes. The role of the firefighter, the flagman, the doctor is to act in view of REALITY. Urgency is called for; drastic measures could save a life.
I am entrusted with a duty to faithfully tell what God has said. Some cultural and religious teachings affirm “peace and safety” though God has said differently.
“Peace and safety” teachings sound like this:
- “God is so loving He will not punish sin and evil.”
- “We are ALL going to a better place (Heaven).”
- “Believe in God as you understand Him.”
- “It doesn’t matter what god you follow, follow your heart.”
- “Life continues as always; I don’t take God seriously.”
- “I’ve got lots of time for getting right with God.”
- “If it’s true to you, it’s true.”
Do not be deceived; these beliefs lead to destruction. If you hold to them you have NO “peace and safety.” The ‘Living God’ has made Himself known. The Bible is the documented record of His teachings. This is what He says:
“God has given us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has
life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life.” (1 John 5:11, 12)
“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will
not see life, for God’s wrath remains on him.” (John 3:36)
God is very clear, “The Day of the Lord will come…while people are saying, “Peace and safety,” destruction will come…”
Jesus is the One who delivers from the Eternal Fire; He is the Bridge to God; He can heal us from the ‘sin-disease’ that leads to eternal death. With great urgency Jesus tells us, “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6)
“What are YOU saying?” Does God’s Word take issue with it? Check it out.
“Are you with me?”
