Do you think the world is getting worse? I do.
Do you think the world is getting better? I do.
It is getting better in some ways and worse in other ways. Jesus talked about this in His parable of the wheat and weeds. (You can read it in Matthew 13.)
A farmer sowed wheat in his field, and then an enemy came along and sowed weeds among the wheat. When the workers discovered it, they asked the farmer if he wanted them to pull the weeds, but he said no, lest they uproot the wheat also. He said to let them both grow until the harvest, when the wheat and weeds would be separated.
In many ways our world is getting worse. Sin is growing and humanity is sinking to new lows in how we act and treat each other. But at the same time, the Church is growing, as every day there are new people accepting Jesus as their Saviour and joining the Kingdom of God. It is currently a spiritual kingdom, found in the hearts of God’s People, but I believe a day is coming when Jesus will return and establish His Kingdom on earth.
What is this world coming to? It is coming to Jesus! The Bible says that someday, every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord (Philippians 2:10-11). For many this acknowledgement will come too late, which is why the Bible says that “now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation.” (2 Corinthians 6:2)
Today is the right day to join God’s Kingdom!
