Celebrating, Caring, Community

Bible Verse of the Day

Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?

Will the Blue Jays Win the World Series?

Has it really been 30 years?

It is hard to believe, but yes, it is true. Three decades have passed since my Toronto Blue Jays won the World Series for the first time. What is really sad is that 29 years have passed since the last time they won it all.

There are 30 teams in Major League Baseball, so you could say that we are due. The Jays have left ample time for the other teams to have a turn at winning, and now it is our turn.

Will there be rejoicing in Toronto this November? Will there be a great celebration across Canada? The Blue Jays are a special team, because they don’t just have a city cheering for them; they have an entire country.

As exhilarating as it would be to bring the World Series trophy back to Canada, the Bible talks about a celebration in Heaven that is far greater. In Luke 15:10, Jesus said, “there is rejoicing in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.”

Every time a new believer joins the Family of God, Heaven throws a party! Every person who turns from their sin and accepts Jesus as their Saviour is celebrated in Heaven.

I have a question for you, dear friend: Has Heaven thrown a party for you? Have you placed your faith and trust in Jesus? I would gladly trade 100 World Series victories to know that I will see you in Heaven someday. That would be the best reason to cheer!
