Do you ever wonder what you missed out on in life because you were afraid to ask? A promotion at work? A better price on something you bought? Help with a major task?
Some people are missing out on a life with Jesus because they are afraid to ask. They assume that their past has been too sinful, and that Jesus would never love someone like them.
The Bible says, “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
One day, a man who was covered with leprosy approached Jesus and knelt before Him. The man said, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Jesus reached out and touched the man, saying, “I am willing. Be clean!” Immediately the man was healed of his leprosy.
Imagine if the man had let doubts and fears prevent him from approaching Jesus. Suppose he said to himself, “Jesus won’t help me; He will be repulsed by my appearance and just tell me to go away.” That man would have missed a life-changing miracle.
Perhaps you have been thinking, “Jesus won’t help me. My sins are too many; my past is too ugly; my life is too broken.” Friend, don’t believe those lies! No one is beyond repair when Jesus is the repairman.
Jesus loves you, and He wants to have a friendship with you. He will forgive your sin. He will heal your broken past. He will make you clean.
All you need to do is ask.
